For this podcast series, we spoke with leaders from across the bedding industry to hear what they are doing to support and motivate their teams and themselves during this uncertain time. What are they doing to keep their employees safe? How has their approach to leadership evolved?
In this episode, we talk with Gerry Borreggine, CEO of Therapedic. As an international licensing company, Therapedic had an early window into how this pandemic would play out in the US. With that headstart, Gerry is able to now shift his focus on the future – and what Therapedic can do to support retailers as they prepare to start re-opening. As the company’s factories ramp production back up to help restock inventory, the headquarters has been hard at work developing new programs and promotions that will really resonate with consumers right now.
‘We tried to come up with something that would arm our sales people with excitement to bring to not only our dealers but our prospects. We wanted to arm them with a series of promotions that would fit this current time and current situation. We wanted retailers, when the are able to re-open, to re-open with excitement. To re-engage with consumers with a cool story of a new mattress – and the thing that we did with these promotions is that we threaded the better sleep angle into all the promotions…We’re just trying to put an entire exciting package together, put it in the hands of the retailer, so they can present it to consumers with a degree of excitement that will really engage consumers and make them want to invest in a new sleep set.”
