Milwaukee-based Verlo Mattress recently opened its new showroom in Racine with a ribbon cutting involving community and business leaders.
The company had planned to open the store at 5630 Washington Ave. (Highway 20) in April but paused those plans as part of the state’s Safer at Home response to the Coronavirus pandemic. The new location is located between Kohl’s and Festival Foods in the Village Center Station Shopping Center at the intersection of Highway 20 and Green Bay Road. Verlo’s previous location opened in 1994 and was about a mile south of the new showroom.
To celebrate the store’s grand opening, Verlo partnered with the Wisconsin Humane Society offering pet owners the chance to win a custom-made bed for themselves and one for their pooch. Verlo matched all donations up to $2,500 from customers donating to the humane society by rounding up their purchase.
Dog owners are invited to submit a photo of their pet in costume on the Verlo Greenfield store Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Verlo.Greenfield) before Nov. 3. The humane society will help determine the winning photo. The winning pet owner will receive a free v3 queen mattress and box spring as well as a custom pet bed.
