Therapedic’s New Products Received Positively At Las Vegas Market

After introducing a wide array of new products, Therapedic International reports that it left Las Vegas feeling pleased with the response it received from retailers who viewed its new offerings during the winter market.

The company’s new Whisperbed line of three bed-in-a-box models received much of the attention, according to Gerry Borreggine, Therapedic International’s president and CEO.

Borreggine said buyers were particularly impressed with Whisperbed, a unique collection of feature-rich, promotionally-priced hybrid bed-in-a-box sleep systems that feature a coil system from Leggett & Platt and premium foams like gel visco and other high-performance proprietary foams.

The retails on the three-model line-up are $699/$799; $799/$899; and $899/$999. The covers feature a stretch knit and gray damask border, both from Culp.

“Our research indicates that compressed beds will account for up to 80% of the market in three years but with the launch of Whisperbed, our customers can grow their bed-in-a-box business today,” Borreggine said.

The Whisperbed program is being manufactured by Leggett & Platt to the Therapedic specifications, Borreggine said.

“Some of our factories do not have the compression machinery at this time.  So, this program allows us to service our dealers, now, with compressed product,” Borreggine said.

During the market the company received a strong response to its American Glory collection, an assortment of sleep systems that allows retailers the opportunity to promote sharply priced bedding values with a strong “Made-in-America” story.

The line boasts a patriotic look and is backed by a full array of marketing and promotional materials. The line, featuring adjustable, edge to edge pocket coils and foundations boasting USB ports on each side, is an ideal collection to tie-in with U.S. holidays including President’s Day, Memorial Day and the fourth of July.

Models in the American Glory collection retail for $799, $999 and $1,1999 in queen with each model offering a different combination of foam layers designed to deliver superior resiliency, ventilation and ultimately, an elevated sleep experience.

In recognition of the industry’s renewed interest in latex, Therapedic also showed an updated version of Pure Touch.

“There are many benefits associated with latex including comfort, pressure relief, temperature regulation, buoyancy, durability and more,” Borreggine explained.  “We used a Dunlop latex core, and integrated layers of Talalay’s graphite latex to provide the most buoyant, breathable natural sleep surface,” he explained.

During the market the company showed three models: Mist, Canopy and Afterglow, although the full line-up, a seven-sku assortment, is much more robust.  Suggested retail prices range from $1,499 to $2,999.

For retailers looking for a sleep system that does not fit into a single category, Therapedic offers the new Therapedic Hybrid line which uses a combination construction to bring together the benefits of foam, coils and other materials for an amazing sleep.

Two of the six models which make up the line-- the TLX5 and TLX8 (LX implying Luxury), found favor with retailers. With the queen size retailing between $799 to $1,999, the line-up also offers key price points for every floor.

Therapedic backed up a strong features-and-benefits story that includes the Therawrap Active Edge Encased Coil System, the new Air-Coil pocketed coil layer, Copper Gel Memory Foam, Natural Latex Foam and a Cooling Stretch Knit Fabric with a fashionable, contemporary look in whites and navy blues.

Additionally, the company also showed six Tommy Bahama beds, which included two new luxury models with i-Flex hybrid quilts, and three TheraLuxe HD, heavy-duty mattresses designed to offer consumers extra durability.
