Therapedic International will introduce its first gel mattress collection at High Point Market. Using swirl gel-memory foam, the new GelTouch® series sleeps cooler than a regular memory foam mattress.
“With a growing consumer interest in the gel category, the introduction of the GelTouch collection allows our retail partners the opportunity to provide their customer with an affordable gel alternative,” said President and CEO Gerry Borreggine. “This product is ideal for the consumer who spends their money wisely but also wants bedding products offering the latest technology and sleep benefits.”
The GelTouch collection is made using a pre-polymer that is added and ‘swirled’ into the foam compound as it is made, giving the product better adherence to the foam, with greater gel coverage, and greater cooling and comfort benefits. The open cell design of the gel-memory foam technology supports air and moisture movement while improving blood flow and oxygen exposure to skin cells, allowing for 30 percent better heat conductivity than any other foam product on the market. Research shows the foam in the Gel- Touch mattresses improves pressure point relief and increases body support by up to 40 percent. The combination of the DynaFlow® Cooling Fabric, designed to increase both the breathability and cooling effect, and the swirl gel-memory foam, allows the GelTouch beds to sleep cooler than traditional foam.
The opening line will have three models: The Blue Lagoon 8 ¼” mattress, which combines gel memory foam with a layer of latex enhanced support, and high density foam, as well as the DynaFlow® Cooling Fabric; the Blue Essence 11” mattress includes an additional layer of high support memory foam; and the Blue Heaven 13” mattress, which has an extra layer of Talalay latex. The suggested retail price of the GelTouch series ranges from $1,199 to $1,999 in queen and all three models will be displayed.
