OMI Focuses On Improving the Organic Crib Mattress Category
With recent reports on toxic chemicals in furniture products making national headlines, Organic Mattresses, Inc. (OMI) is continuing its hard stance in supporting the growing number of customers who are seeking out safe, green bedrooms for the youngest organic consumers. The company has announced its no-chemical approach has set a new standard in the organic mattress category by passing its second crib mattress flammability audit in just eight years. The results of this third-party federal audit guarantees that OMI’s crib mattresses conform to the highest level anti-flammability standards.
The company says all models in its three-SKU crib mattress lineup meet the American Federal Consumer Product Safety Commission standards without the use of any toxic chemicals. In order to pass these standards, mattresses exposed to flame need to fall below a set “peak heat” rate. OMI’s mattresses fall at the extreme low end of the audit’s criteria and, notably, do this while remaining fire retardant chemical-free and fire barrier chemical-free.
