Highlights from High Point Market
While not necessarily a focused bedding market, we returned to Washington excited by the High Point market. From redesigned pop displays, adjustable bases, pillows and gel mattresses to improved warranty programs, below are highlights from market.
Gold Bond’s redesigned Premier collection offers quality, 2-sided inner spring coil bases at value price points. With the full coil base, the line is a different approach to many of the current inner spring collections available.
In test driving Anatomic Global’s adjustable powerbase, the smooth wall glider track and preprogrammed wireless remote proved user friendly.
Hickory Spring’s iCARE FLX adjustable bases were on display at High Point with the FLX 6 front and center. The 6 panel base includes a built-in “night light” along with customized elevation from head to toe.
We were excited to see the Natura World NexGel Pillow! With a different approach to selling pillows, Natura World has three different feels of pillow focusing more on the consumer’s favorite versus their ideal sleeping position.
Magniflex’s redesigned POP continues to impress! The updated Shop in Shop program promotes the company’s mission with its updated imagery. And the lightweight, modular displays are easy for retailers to incorporate into their stores.
We enjoyed stopping by Sleep & Beyond space and learning firsthand the history of their company and how their merino wool is made. The top-of-bed products are made of 100% organic merino wool and we think will be a hot item with consumers.
As we mentioned in our feature, Looking at Gel, Classic Brands’ Cool Gel Collection is notable for its Cool Gel Memory Foam with gel infused into the memory foam for a cool, consistent sleep surface.
We were excited to see Pure LatexBLISS’s Gel Inside Pillows and Toppers with its ACTIVE Gel technology. With a demonstration from company president Kurt Ling, we saw firsthand how the ACTIVE Gel adjusts to our body temperature changing from a solid to a liquid.
International Bedding’s topper collection, first introduced in Las Vegas, continues to see success in High Point offering retailers further selling options in customers’ price points.
Jamison Bedding’s Chill Room was exciting and packed with their new mascot Captain Cool! The Gel Comfort four-bed collection combines the solid structure of the Marriott base with the new cooling power of gel.
The lineup at Ashley Sleep included an array of memory foam mattresses and a new, kid friendly design for their Dylan kids mattress. With no minimum quantity purchase, Ashley Sleep is a convenient choice for retailers.
It was great seeing Shifman’s Masters Collection with its exquisite craftsmanship and design. Shifman showed their entire collection of hand tufted mattresses and also explained the benefits of an authentic eight-way hand-tied boxspring.
Restonic’s Health Rest collection was on full display. Available in either latex or memory foam the line offers retailers the ability to provide both options at a great price.
