Gold Bond Introduces Nine New Mattresses at High Point Market
Gold Bond debuted its new Comfort Collection at the High Point Market. In direct response to retailer requests for mattresses with a softer feel in the value category, the new one-sided mattress series consists of nine models from $599 – $1,099 in varying comfort and support levels. It is the largest introduction of new product at any single market for the company in its 113 year history.
Each model in the Comfort Collection features quilted layers of polyester fibers, cotton fibers and high resiliency foams sewn right into the cover. Similar to a mattress topper, this gives the beds a softer feel than the other mattresses in Gold Bond’s portfolio.
“This Comfort Collection is our most significant introduction since we launched our popular Sacro Support Encased Coil line in 2008. We anticipate that this series will quickly become our most competitive line,” said Gold Bond President Robert Naboicheck. “Consumer and retailer demand for high quality one-sided mattresses is on the rise. With the introduction of the Comfort Collection, we are not only offering a quality mattress at a value-driven price, we are providing an innovative innerspring with the benefit of a softer feel.”
Gold Bond’s Vice President of Sales, Skip Naboicheck, got the inspiration for the Comfort Collection while traveling from store to store and speaking one-on-one with independent retailers.
“Our retail partners tell us that many of their customers are choosing mattresses on price point and then adding an inexpensive mattress topper for comfort. The one-sided Comfort Collection streamlines this sales process because it offers a soft cushion sewn right into the mattress cover, making mattress toppers unnecessary. These beds are so plush, you can easily see as well as feel the difference. This collection offers something for everyone – value, convenience, and comfort,” said Naboicheck.
Each mattress in the Comfort Collection features a soft stretch knit ticking which offers a luxurious, plush feel. The contemporary design uses a muted blue and silver “swirl” pattern to enhance curb appeal on the showroom floor. Super soft high resiliency foam and plush fiber is quilted to the fabric. Under the quilting are layers of more super soft foam to provide resiliency. Durable full-body support comes from its 416-coil 13 gauge innerspring unit, the Steel Spring Edge Support providing an edge-to-edge sleeping surface, and the all-steel foundation which is used in every Gold Bond mattress set.
