Continuing its commitment to supporting retailers with an omni-channel marketing approach, Diamond Mattress is introducing its new Rally by Diamond Mattress boxed bed line at the Las Vegas Market.
Considering the explosive growth in online bedding sales, “our objective is to give our retailers multiple options in the bed-in-box segment and to ensure a seamless shopping experience for consumers, whether online or in-store,” explained Diamond president Shaun Pennington. “Retailers can engage consumers with the convenient choice of taking their Rally mattress home that day or of having it drop-shipped directly to their door. Today’s shoppers want options and retailers need to be able to provide them.”
Diamond’s three-bed Rally series starts at $899 in queen and includes a choice of firm, medium or plush models. The beds are made with a new proprietary foam Diamond has developed called Cool Bounce Copper Gel. This open-cell foam is perforated to promote air circulation and infused with copper gel and phase change material for effective temperature regulation. While copper is itself an antimicrobial material, the foam includes additional anti-microbial agents.
Depending on the model, the new beds include layers of responsive, ventilated gel visco or other foams, and a high-density foam support base. According to Pennington, the new Rally beds deliver “a very buoyant, latex-like feel” overall.
Each 11.5-inch mattress features a stretch knit fabric that has moisture-wicking capability. The fabric is uniquely striped and color-coded according to the bed’s firmness level—a cover design for which Diamond has a patent pending. Grey-striped models are firm, blue-striped beds are medium and the green-striped models are plush “which makes it very easy for retail salespeople to help consumers choose the right Rally mattress,” Pennington noted. The cover designs are also echoed in the new logo design for the collection.
Diamond is backing every customer purchase with a 100-night comfort guarantee and is working closely with retailers to implement additional innovative programs that promote in-store sales. The Rally beds are also MMAP-priced to maintain a level playing field between online and in-store sales opportunities.
