Serta Simmons Bedding Names Chief Marketing Officer

Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC (SSB) recently announced the appointment of Melanie Huet as chief marketing officer, following an extensive search.  The appointment was effective January 22.  Huet will report to SSB CEO Michael Traub.

Huet brings several years of marketing experience in consumer packaged goods, most recently she served as Vice President of Marketing, Beverages & Snack Nuts at Kraft Heinz Corporation, where she was responsible for a $4B portfolio including iconic brands like Planters, Capri Sun, Kool-Aid and Maxwell House.

“With the growth of the DTC segment and increasing competitiveness in traditional retail, the need to differentiate and build brand awareness across our house of brands has never been greater. I am excited to have Melanie join SSB and lead this effort,” said SSB CEO Michael Traub.   “She will strengthen all our great brands and evaluate new opportunities to reach customers more directly,” Traub added.

In addition to Huet’s previous roles with Kraft Heinz, she held brand management leadership roles with Kimberly-Clark and Unilever.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and German from the University of St. Thomas and a Master of Business Administration from the William E. Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester.
