Therapedic Donates New Bedding to Louisiana Flood Victims
Therapedic, along with some of its key manufacturing partners, is donating desperately needed Therapedic compressed mattresses, pillows and mattress pads to help the thousands of flood victims in Louisiana.
The Louisiana floods, which the American Red Cross called “the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Superstorm Sandy,” have taken the lives of at least 11 people and have impacted at least 40,000 homes, according to Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.
Soon after the flooding, Therapedic was contacted by Alexandra Napoli, who recently founded House 2 Home, an organization that helps the elderly and families in need. An application and qualification process is involved to ensure those receiving products are truly in need.
Therapedic contacted its manufacturing partners and they generously offered their support. As a result, Hickory Springs, Soft-tex Manufacturing, Carpenter Co., Perfect Fit Industries, Hollander Sleep Products and Comfort Revolution are all donating Therapedic-branded products and the corporate office of Therapedic will share in the cost related to the products and shipping.
“In this case, the devastation in Louisiana sadly seems to be neglected by the press due to the election process and the Olympics. We believe attention needs to be given to the victims of this flooding and we are happy to be part of that solution,” said Gerry Borreggine, Therapedic president and CEO.
The company is already busy picking the products to be shipped to the troubled areas and is planning to have them delivered to House 2 Home this week.
