The SSA & Relief Bed Collaborate To Donate 500 Beds To The Salvation Army
The Specialty Sleep Association (SSA) collaborated with Relief Bed International to help raise funds to provide beds to aid in disaster response and for emergency use at homeless shelters operated by the Salvation Army.
Under the theme of “If You’re Here, You Are Helping,” the SSA encouraged market attendees to visit its showroom by donating one Relief Bed per every buying group scanned into the space. The SSA and its showroom exhibitors provided funds for 250 beds to match their buyer group scans for the market.
“Relief Bed International is proud to announce that it will be matching the funds raised by the SSA members bringing the total donation to 500 Relief Beds to support Salvation Army’s efforts here and abroad,” said Scott Smalling, found of Relief Bed International.
“We are excited to work with Scott Smalling and Relief Bed on this special project,” explained Tambra Jones, executive director of the SSA. “Further, we are thrilled to report that 100 of the donated beds have already been sent to aid fire related disaster response in support of The Salvation Army.”
Relief Bed International’s Marketing Director, Hunter Smalling, was on hand at market to meet with attendees and answer questions along with accepting donations for this project. Relief Bed International is 100% volunteer based and the majority of donations go to fund beds to their relief partners around the world.
