Spring Air Adds New Illinois-Based Licensee
Spring Air International has signed a license agreement with SBI Mattress Inc., based in Springfield, Ill., to make and market its Back Supporter® and Sleep Sense™ bedding brands throughout the state, announced company president Rick Robinson.
Opened in 1975, SBI Mattress is a family-owned business that operates a 45,000-square-foot mattress factory and employs 37 persons. To be known as Spring Air-Illinois, the company is headed by owner and president Michele Buyan. Joshua Patridge, Buyan’s son, serves as plant manager while son-in-law Scott Meyers is company vice president of marketing and sales.
“This is the first Illinois-based Spring Air licensee to serve the state exclusively since the former Spring Air Company became Spring Air International in 2009,” noted Robinson.
“We’re very pleased with the opportunity to centralize and increase our coverage in Illinois by adding a manufacturer that has a great reputation for quality and a business base that includes retailers who have been loyal customers for nearly 40 years.”
Spring Air-Illinois will begin producing Spring Air products in January 2014 and will be represented at the upcoming Las Vegas Market.
