SHEEX Inc., a performance fabric bedding and sleepwear company with globally patented technology, recently announced that it has hired Brian Hoke as its chief merchandising officer.
Hoke is a dynamic apparel executive with over 25 years of proven successes in merchandising, brand building and management experience across a broad spectrum of business categories.
“Sometimes in life you just know when something is right from the moment you meet someone. Brian is that someone and is a perfect fit for the SHEEX brand,” said Co-Founder/Co-CEO Michelle Brooke-Marciniak. “Brian’s years of experience and track record speak for itself, yet his humility sets him apart. I feel like Brian is the player you add to your team that takes you from winning games to winning championships.”
For the last two years, Hoke served as senior vice president and chief merchant of the New York- based department store Lord & Taylor before transitioning to Co-President for the seven months leading up to the Le Tote acquisition of the 200-year -old retailer. While leading Lord & Taylor through the acquisition, he added ownership of the marketing, financial, planning, and digital teams. During the post-acquisition phase, Hoke had oversight of the Le Tote rental merchandising team.
“We are ecstatic to have Brian join our SHEEX team,” Co-Founder/Co- CEO Susan Walvius said. “He is an experienced merchant with strong leadership qualities. Not only will he bring a tighter focus on customer relationships and product, but he will be a great role model for our employees and partners who come into contact with him.”
Prior to Lord & Taylor, Hoke was described as a “seasoned and innovative merchant” while working for Macy’s. During his tenure there, he served in various capacities of progressive responsibility. Hoke left Macy’s after 14 years as the group vice president of men’s sportswear, active and seasonal. He held senior roles across the merchandising function and developed a deep and respected knowledge in housewares, men’s, women’s shoes, and fragrances.
Before joining Macy’s in 2004, Hoke worked as buyer for Value City department stores. He started his career at Lord & Taylor serving as a buyer for men’s furnishings and tailored clothing.
“I am thrilled to be joining SHEEX and look forward to supporting Susan, Michelle, our entire team, our external partners and of course our customers. They have built an impressive brand at SHEEX with amazing product and are poised for explosive growth,” Hoke said.
