OMI Outpaces National Organic Products Growth Trend

Certified organic mattresses and bedding producer Organic Mattresses, Inc. (OMI) is outpacing national organic product sales growth. OMI reported an 18 percent sales increase over the prior year of its certified organic accessories, exceeding the 11 percent sales growth of organic products in the U.S. - a $43.3 billion marketplace as reported by the Organic Trade Association’s 2016 Organic Industry Survey.

Sales of OMI certified organic accessories also topped the 13 percent increase in sales of non-food organic products, including mattresses and other bedding products. That category accounts for $3.6 billion in the overall sales of organic goods. OMI’s accessory portion of mattress sales is the highest in the industry at 23 percent of base sale.

“The increased demand for organic products continues to soar indicating that organic is not a fad but rather a new way of living for those seeking honest products to complement their healthy lifestyle,” said OMI CEO Jeff Bader.

“The industry tracker is an important metric for us, and we are thrilled we have outperformed it in our space. This tells us that our product design and pricing is resonating with consumers seeking certified organic alternatives. We have always recognized organic as being the best option for consumers, and now with the significant growth we are experiencing it has become evident that consumers also recognize the very real benefits of organic and are beginning to favor organic products over conventional products in their homes," Walt Bader, OMI President and Founder further explained. "The organic industry is growing as a whole and OMI is leading that growth in the sleep products sector.”
