As a certified B Corp, Malouf recently formed an Environmental Sustainability Council made up of employees across all departments to evaluate its impact on the environment and to find new ways to strengthen its retail partnerships.
“At Malouf, we want to become better every day—for our customers, our community, and the environment,” said Malouf CEO Sam Malouf. “Our sustainability council is a great example of employees working together to not only create a better experience for our customers, but to build a better world for society.”
As part of its mission, the Environmental Sustainability Council has set specific goals to encourage sustainable business practices and growth, reduce its waste and carbon outputs, and promote the benefits of a sustainable lifestyle for its employees and community.
“Establishing a sustainability council has allowed us to start a conversation about what each employee can do to make a difference,” said Ryan Egbert, a member of the council and national warehouse manager for Malouf. “From those conversations, we have already identified cost-saving initiatives that will decrease landfill waste and save our partners and us money.”
To maximize its impact, members of the Environmental Sustainability Council will analyze its objectives every quarter and publish the company’s progress in a yearly report.
