From temperature regulating technology, to new gel and latex materials, and eye-catching POP displays; we are excited about the many new bedding innovations we saw at the High Point Market last weekend. Below are some of the market highlights:
Bedgear: Bedgear offers a variety of different high performance bedding essentials, ranging from sheets and pillows to encasements and protectors. The unique Dri-Tec® fabric features a system that manages airflow, transports moisture, and dissipates heat, providing the consumer with a more comfortable night’s sleep.
Caber Sure Fit: Caber Sure Fit’s new POP for its DreamSerene™ collection of mattress and pillow encasements feature impressive, eye catching displays for its Allergy Shield™, Wet Block Technology™ and DreamSeal™, designed to protect the mattress or box spring from allergens, bed bugs and water damage. The line comes in a variety of different fabrics and protective intensity.
Comfortaire: Looking towards the January 2013 market, Comfortaire has seen great success with its adjustable attachment rates and their dual core mattresses that are tailored to each sleeper’s preference.
Enso: Exciting product lines are in the works from Enso. The Accord mattress, specifically, has a dual core with one side soft and the other firm to appeal to partners with different sleep preferences.
FXI: FXI has teamed up with “The Sleep Doctor”, Dr. Michael Breus, to create a new line of foam pillows. Designed by the expert himself, keeping in mind his four tenets of a good night’s sleep: consistent neutral temperature, motion control, pressure relief and proper support. Each pillow is made from breathable foam and comes with a removable, washable cover made from Coolmax® fabric.
Gold Bond: Gold Bond has combined its two most popular features in the new Platinum mattress model: the comfort and support of the Natural Latex mattresses with the enhanced longevity of a two-sided model. The result? A more restorative sleep and a mattress that will last longer.
Jamison Bedding: Unveiling its Talalay Latex Collection, Jamison looks to “lift, relax, and relieve.” With innovative POP of butterflies that ties nicely throughout the line’s cover packaging and progression of mattresses. The company continues to foster a discussion with its retailers on how to merchandise and effectively sell its products.
Julien Beaudoin Ltd: Recycling old train tracks for their strong, supportive steel and tensile as well as using water based paint and recycled packaging, Beaudoin offers a unique story to the bed frame. With upholstery headboards, over 100 products and QR codes on packing for user-friendly instructions, the Canadian company continues to grow in the United States market.
Kingsdown: We enjoyed our factory tour of Kingsdown in Mebane, NC. As a portfolio brand, Kingsdown has an extensive array of nine brands that span many price points and sleeper needs. The 100,000 foot manufacturing facility, which featured state-of-the-art quality testing for every mattress produced and a clean, sterile environment, was just one example of the company’s highly efficient operations.
Leggett & Platt: Leggett & Platt is changing the way people think about adjustable beds. Their new Designer Series™ features a range of comfort control add-ons, such as remote-control options, full body-massage, sound-driven wake-up alarms, as well as attractive customizations, such as furniture-grade upholstery and matching headboards that evokes the company’s new tagline “Finely crafted tranquility.”
Magniflex: We were excited to see the new Magnigel® Gel from Magniflex. This gel-foam technology counters the problem of sleeping hot with a swirled, open cell design that provides extra breathability to the company’s mattresses and pillows, dissipating heat and keeping temperatures stable throughout the night.
Paramount: Unveiled at market, Paramount Bedding’s new all-foam HD Super Duty® collection features layers of memory foam, gel memory foam and latex. The collection was independently tested at 350 pounds to ensure added strength and durability.
Pure LatexBLISS: Pure LatexBLISS is expanding its ActiveFUSION™ mattress technology to its pillow collection with the new ActiveFUSION Climate Control Pillows. Using Natural Talalay Latex, the pillows work to cool a warm sleeper and warm a cool sleeper and are available in both a “Fast” and “Slow” response option.
Sealy: Touring Sealy’s R & D Center we saw firsthand how the company develops, tests, and puts into production its mattress collections. With its state-of-the-art Burn Facilities and extensive testing capabilities that go beyond standard rolling tests, Sealy continues to impress with the dedication that goes into the development of each mattress.
Serta: Looking to the 2013 Winter Market, Serta continues to see success in its iSeries™, iComfort®, and Trump Luxury collections. We are looking forward to seeing what is in store for this.
Shifman: Shifman marks their 120th anniversary in 2013 and to celebrate, they rolled out their new Vintage Collection of mattresses at High Point. The new collection honors Shifman’s tradition of handcrafting their products, while incorporating a new, modern design.
Simmons: Introducing four new Comforpedic® from Beautyrest® models, the line includes Aircool® memory foam and a space-age substance TruTemp™ in each gel bead within the Aircool memory foam collection. Simmons says the TruTemp gel will absorb, store, and release excess warmth as the sleeper moves throughout the night.
Spirit Sleep: Looking to further sales growth, Spirit Sleep is leveraging its industry platform of offering great quality products with a strategy more specific to a niche category. We are excited to see how the company moves forward with its quality gel products.
Therapedic International: First unveiled at the 2012 Summer Market, Therapedic International’s Agility line has expanded with further emphasis on the specialty hybrid of mini coils and foam featured in the mattress. Eye catching with its tangerine color, the line reaches a younger generation seeking a mattress for a more active lifestyle.
ZedBed: Canadian manufacturer, Zedbed® offers retailers a vast array of choices in its Snowpedic collection. With a progression of slow to fast response memory foam line, each mattress in the collection reaches a diverse selection of customer preferences.
