Dallas CIO Leadership Association Recognizes Corsicana’s CIO
The chief information officer for mattress manufacturer Corsicana Mattress Co. was recently recognized as the top technology executive in Dallas for organizations with up to $500 million in annual revenue. Rusty Kennington, Corsicana’s CIO, was selected from a group of 200 nominations to receive the Dallas CIO of the Year ORBIE Award by the Dallas CIO Leadership Association (DallasCIO).
The ORBIE Award recognizes chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership, business value creation and engagement in industry and community endeavors.

Prior to joining Corsicana in 2017, Kennington held senior IT positions at notable companies including Brinker International, Commercial Metals Co. and Ernst & Young, Kennington received his bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University where he studied electrical engineering.
Dedicated to helping others, Kennington volunteers as a mentor to at-risk kids at Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star and as a science fair judge at Plano Independent School District. He also coaches competitive youth baseball.
The annual award is presented by the Dallas CIO Leadership Association (DallasCIO) –the preeminent professional association for chief information officers in North Texas. In order to be considered for the award, nominees must hold the CIO title, be a member of senior management and be responsible for the IT operations of an organization based in North Texas. Honorees are selected by a peer review process led by former ORBIE recipients.
