Corsicana Names New COO

As Corsicana Mattress Co. has embarked on a multi-million dollar capital campaign to upgrade plants and equipment, it is turning to an operations and logistics leader from the consumer goods sector as its chief operating officer. James Booth joins the company from VF Corp., where he oversaw similar functions for leading brands that included The North Face, Timberland and Vans.

As COO, Booth will oversee and execute the company’s upgrade to its facilities, all day-to-day operations for Corsicana’s factories, drive internal strategies and manage the company’s production needs. Working out of Corsicana’s Dallas headquarters, Booth will travel to the company’s network of factories regularly. He reports to Michael Thompson, chief executive officer of Corsicana Mattress.

“Corsicana is a very exciting company with wonderful brands, employees and customers. We have a tremendous opportunity to continue that growth by having a world class manufacturing and logistics platform in place. we have the resources and expertise to put those elements in place quickly and efficiently to benefit all our customers,” said Booth.

A graduate of the University of Victoria, Booth received his Master of Science degree from Kettering University, where he majored in manufacturing operations, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Detroit.
