BEDGEAR Teams Up With Star Furniture & The 2018 Chevron Houston Marathon

BEDGEAR announces its joint partnership with Star Furniture and the 2018 Chevron Houston Marathon, to be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018. This announcement comes just one week after BEDGEAR first became available at Star Furniture’s Corporate and Sugar Land store locations. By the end of the month, BEDGEAR’s Performance Shop-In-Shop retail experiences will be available at all nine Star Furniture Houston locations. Together, both brands aim to cut through all of the noise and make headway directly to the expanding young and active Houston demographic, through personalized and curated in-store experiences focused on increasing their performance.

BEDGEAR’s interactive booth at the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute EXPO from January 12th through January 13th will feature a similar look-and-feel and experience to that of Star Furniture’s new Performance Shop-in-Shop and will offer customized fittings using its Sleep System ID and Pillow ID, outfitting visitors with the ideal bedding equipment to get the most out of their sleep. The Sleep System ID uses both camera and sensor technology to read body size, sleep position and temperature. Data will be collected by a combination of manual input, temperature and support sensors. BEDGEAR product specialists will be available to fit runners for products that create their optimal sleep environment.

“BEDGEAR attracts today’s new generation of consumers and especially appeals to the life-optimizer, techno-phile and health and wellness enthusiast—including runners—all of which are focuses for Star Furniture as we focus our 2018 efforts on rejuvenating our brand in Houston,” said Joe Perez, director of mattresses for Star Furniture. “We’re thrilled to launch our partnership with BEDGEAR during such an exciting time for Houston with the 2018 Chevron Houston Marathon, helping to set the stage for the New Year [with] Star Furniture [as] a destination to shop for a personalized and curated in-store experience.”

In the week leading up to the marathon, BEDGEAR has partnered with Catherine Kruppa, MS, RD, CSSD, LD, a registered, licensed dietitian, and wellness coach based in Houston, to share sleep and wellness tips as part of a training regimen with the greater Houston community on local media stations. On race day, BEDGEAR will be at mile 25 as part of the Chevron Houston Marathon’s block-party, cheering on runners as they make their way towards the finish line handing out water, sunglasses and headbands to runners and spectators alike. Additionally, four Star Furniture employees will be running as part of the BEDGEAR race team.

“The running community has a natural inclination to our brand as a group who truly embraces what we have built in a personalized, Performance Sleep System, which optimizes your unique sleep environment with unparalleled air flow, breathability and moisture-wicking patented fabric technologies,” said Eugene Alletto, BEDGEAR CEO. “The launch of our new BEDGEAR Performance Shop-in-Shop in Star Furniture alongside the Chevron Houston Marathon creates the perfect opportunity to build awareness from day-one with the high-affinity audience that is also affluent and can experience BEDGEAR and Star Furniture through the marathon and beyond to refresh and expand Star Furniture’s in-store customer with BEDGEAR’s younger consumer.”
