Southerland Unveils New One-Piece Adjustable Base For The Price-Conscious Consumer
Responding to consumer and retailer demand, Southerland has added a one-piece king adjustable power bed base to its lineup. Part of the company’s American Adjustables collection, the new B26 base was designed for the more price conscious consumer. By replacing the need for two twin XL bases, this model cuts costs by nearly 20%.
“Helping our retail partners meet the needs of their consumers with cost-effective, problem-solving products has always been at the core of what we do at Southerland,” said Bryan Smith, president and chief executive officer. “Our retailers have shared with us increased demand from consumers looking for a true king bed adjustable experience that eliminates the middle gap by accommodating a king mattress. Not only does our one-piece king base take care of that problem, but it also provides a value-priced offering, while assuring a good return on investment for our retailers.”
Priced to retail at $1,299 in king, the B26 adjustable foundation is equipped with Bluetooth compatibility and adjustable leg height. Featuring a wireless remote control, the base offers zero-gravity, head-up and foot-up capabilities along with three pre-set positions. The bases are assembled in the U.S. in Southerland’s factories.
Recently, Southerland added a six-model mattress lineup to its popular Signature brand. Designed around an 8-inch zoned wrapped coil system, the collection features premium cushioning materials like copper-infused latex and gel-infused memory foam. The mattresses, priced to retail from $999 to $1,699, are engineered to be adjustable bed base friendly—they work with all of Southerland’s line of motion bases, including the one-piece king. Three of the new mattress models are copper-infused latex hybrids, while the other three feature gel memory foam.
