Independent sleep products manufacturer Gold Bond is pushing the style envelope for its futon collection by incorporating high-design, upholstery-grade fabrics to its lineup making the futons at home in nearly any room. The new contemporary patterns feature a soothing wavy pattern and a Greek key woven design each of which are available in two color options.
“Futons are becoming a necessity in many homes, and consumers are looking for more upscale designs to marry with their current interiors,” said Robert Naboicheck, president of Gold Bond. “Our latest fabric offerings fill that niche, and deliver a flourish of style on our classic, space-saving collection of futons.”
Gold Bond partnered with High Point, N.C.-based fabric supplier Culp to develop the covers made of polyester and acrylic or rayon fibers. The rayon and acrylic add softness to the fabrics giving the covers a welcoming, comfortable hand.
The upscale fabrics join Gold Bond’s extensive selection of microfiber color options, tweed selections and a recycled leather currently offered throughout the company’s 18 futon lineup. The new fabrics increase the retail cost of the futons by $100.
