Leveraging its strength in domestically produced bedding priced under $1,000, Corsicana Mattress will unveil a line of mattress toppers that hit the very aggressive $129 retail price point in queen. The toppers feature an innovative micro-coil system that is being used in this mattress topper for the first time.
The two-sided toppers are designed to be sold through the e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retail channels, expanding the company’s consumer base and increasing awareness of its five major brands.
“While we always prefer to sell the consumer a new mattress, we recognize there are circumstances where that’s not possible, so we’ve developed this incredibly comfortable line of toppers to meet that need,” said Mike Loomis, vice president of product development and innovation of Corsicana Mattress. “The layer of micro-coils takes comfort to a level not previously available in a mattress topper, while still providing the flexibility to sell as a cash-and-carry item.”
The 3-inch micro-coil layer is wrapped for added stability, and the coils are cushioned by either plush or firm polyurethane foam.
Corsicana’s new product includes coordinating toppers for its well-established American Bedding, Renue, Sleep Inc. and Early Bird brands, as well as its just-introduced NightsBridge line. They are available in twin, full, queen and king sizes.
The new lineup was developed at Corsicana’s recently opened product innovation center at its Dallas headquarters, where an integrated team of designers, engineers and marketers strive to enhance innovation in the under-$1,000 mattress segment.
