In response to growing consumer and retailer demand for hybrid mattresses, Therapedic International will introduce three hybrid beds to its successful EcoGel2 collection at the upcoming Spring High Point Market. The innovative EcoGel2 is the first ever gel-on-gel line, allowing the mattress to sleep 30-percent cooler than any other foam bed on the market. Expanding on its foam collection, the new additions feature individually wrapped coils and latex for added support, cooling properties and comfort.
The 11.5-inch Nexus, 13-inch Fusion and 14-inch Synthesis hybrid beds will all feature a layer of cooling gel in the shape of the company’s proprietary HourGlass Back Support System fused atop gel “swirled” memory foam to create a gel-on-gel foam mattress. Each model will also include a high density encased coil unit in the base of the mattress and a foam base layer. The top model, Synthesis, will include a one-inch layer of the HourGlass gel-on-gel, a one-inch layer of latex and 850 individually encased coils. The Nexus will use one-inch of the HourGlass gel-on-gel layer, while the Fusion has a two-inch layer, both atop 638 high profile individually encased coils.
“Hybrid mattresses are leading the specialty sleep category. It is clearly a concept that consumers understand; hybrids offer the best of the newest bedding technologies in one product. Our new models have it all—gel, latex and innerspring—and is perfect for the person who wants the best of everything,” said Therapedic International CEO and President Gerry Borreggine. “It seemed only natural to introduce hybrids into our successful EcoGel2 foam line, also making its High Point debut, as it already featured some of the most innovative sleep materials available today. Adding innerspring and latex makes our product unique and gives our retailers even more differentiation on showroom floors.”
This will be the first time the EcoGel2 foam offerings are shown to buyers and dealers attending High Point Market. The nine-inch Countryside, 11-inch Riverview and 13-inch Oceanfront’s gel memory foam cores are made using a pre-polymer that is added and ‘swirled’ into the foam compound, giving the product better adherence to the foam. The Countryside and Riverview models will feature a one-inch gel top layer in the shape of the company’s hourglass design, while the Oceanfront will use two-inches. The hourglass-design, along with the gel technology provides both cooling benefits and support for key areas of the body, namely shoulders, hips and the lumbar area. The foam models are made with DynaFlow Cooling Fabric for enhanced breathability and cooling benefits.
EcoGel² is the company’s most contemporary design to date, featuring a white and silver color scheme with a sleek charcoal damask border. The suggested retail price for the mattress collection ranges from $999–$1,999 in queen.
