Many value priced mattresses offer more benefits (or comfort) than just their low costs. This growing bedding segment has evolved over the years as consumers are looking for mattresses that provide the necessary comfort and support, without breaking the bank. Manufacturers have responded by introducing unique introductory models, offering quality materials and technology at an affordable price point. These products allow both manufacturers and retailers to further expand their market reach to include consumers of all ages and budgets.
Touted as Jamison Bedding’s most “visually arresting” collection, the English Garden line brings a sense of luxury to the value-price segment. This eight-model collection, retailing from $499 to $999, features innovative Palladian Smart Coil technology, varying layers of premium foams, and custom covers infused with an aloe vera emollient. Backed by comprehensive branding and POP materials, the English Garden collection captures the “Natural Symmetry of Sleep” while ensuring quality, durability and comfort at an affordable price point.
With the new CURV mattress, Simmons aims to win the trust and brand loyalty of a new generation of mattress customers by providing a quality, dependable product at an affordable price. Built in the USA and priced under $999, the CURV was introduced to appeal to the millennial consumers for whom traditional memory foam mattresses are outside their price range. This line is made from specially designed memory foam and features a horizontal curve pattern that supports and conforms to the body while facilitating airflow. In select models, gel is infused into the memory foam for added support and pressure relief.
GOLD BOND MATTRESS
In direct response to both retailer and consumer demand for high quality products at lower price points, Gold Bond Mattress introduced two unique collections earlier this year, establishing the company as a one-stop-show for retailers looking to expand their products offerings and customer base. The Classic Collection appeals to a younger demographic with a price tag under $500, and features an innerspring coil core and varying comfort and support levels for each model. The two-sided Chelsea Collection starts at $699 and features choice of comfort feels, including soft or firm foams and pillow top.
At the fall High Point Market, Therapedic International will unveil three value-priced models in its popular Memory Touch Collection. These new mattresses are designed with the same quality pressure sensitive memory foam for which Therapedic is known. Additionally, the consumer has the option to select an additional layer of EcoGel swirl gel memory foam, for added comfort and cooling. Retailing from $599 to $999 and domestically manufactured, these models were created to give retailers an edge over their competition by expanding their price point range. “By offering mattresses made with high quality materials at promotional prices,” president and CEO Gerry Borreggine explained, “we give our dealers a product made in America that’s close to the import price that will attract a consumer’s interest. We believe if given an option, most people will opt for the domestic product.”
The Gel Orthozone II from Sealy offers the luxury of quality innersprings, memory foam, and gel within one affordable collection. This mattress is made with twice-tempered PostureTech coils, which retain 98% of their height and performance, and enhanced with the Advant-Edge System, inserted between the two outer rows of springs, which offers unmatched stability.
