Since 1852, Hästens has been committed to crafting sleep with the finest handmade beds. To celebrate its 165-year history Hästens has created Tribute – a special edition of the acclaimed Hästens Luxuria with an exclusive new taupe check fabric.
The special edition Tribute, features a new fabric, taupe check, and uses a new special weaving technique to bring a deep, textural hand feel. The inspiration behind Hästens' Tribute bed comes from Hästens' long history and roots as a master saddlemaker. The combination of the fabric and its discrete color tones result in a rustic surface structure reminiscent of the heavy decorative drapes of the 1800s.
“The production process for a new fabric is always complex," says Perla Munhoz, research and development manager at Hästens. "Each time we develop a new design it has to fit into our existing design DNA naturally. We have chosen taupe as a color and the fabric’s special weaving technique as a symbol for our history and [the] way we use only natural material. The new fabric’s color composition reminds us of the cotton, wool, flax and pine within a Hästens bed.”
The Hästens Tribute bed has an exclusive name plaque and four edge legs in oak and aluminium.
“We are a company that has been running for 165 years," concludes Muhoz. "With Hästens Tribute we are referencing our future and our legacy at the same time, with a contemporary colorway drawn from our humble beginnings.”
