As the demand for higher-style futons continues to grow, Gold Bond has developed a new eight-inch, encased coil mattress for its extensive futon line. By adapting technology that has become preferred in the mattress side of its business, the company is making its popular futon options more multifunctional than ever.
Debuting at the fall High Point Market, the new eight-inch mattress delivers a comfortable seat for watching television or conversing and then converts to provide a supportive night’s sleep with its encased coil system. Working with components supplier Leggett & Platt, Gold Bond developed the mattress so that it will easily open and close on a futon frame.
“Our new futon mattress delivers the best of both worlds,” said Robert Naboicheck, president of Gold Bond. “Encased coils still provide the best sleep experience, and with consumers turning toward multifunctional seating and sleep alternatives, we expect this mattress to be a winner.”
In addition to the new mattress, Gold Bond will also showcase two new upscale upholstery fabrics for its futon line at market. “Futons have become important additions in many homes,” Naboicheck continued. “The category continues to grow as home designs continue to include rooms that families are using for multi-purpose spaces.”
