FXI’s New Temperature Regulation Factor System

FXI TRFThe Temperature Regulation Factor (TRF) system is the latest product solution introduced by FXI. A first in the specialty sleep industry, the system will be used to rank and communicate the temperature regulation and performance level of each of the company’s foam offerings in its new TRF product lineup.

The TRF system consists of three levels for foam products: TRF 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0. Products that fall in the TRF 2.0 range have open cell foam with high levels of airflow for good temperature management. At the TRF 3.0 level, foam offerings are open cell, have high airflow and include added heat dissipation properties. Products at the top-level TRF 4.0 category have extreme open cell foam, providing the highest level of airflow of any foam product available on the market, as well as the added benefits of heat and moisture dissipation.

With airflow and breathability at the forefront of the discussion on foam products, the TRF system was created to communicate the combined benefits of airflow, heat and moisture dissipation and how those benefits increase within the system itself. Each step in the scale, from TRF 2.0, to 3.0 and 4.0, builds upon the one before it to create a unique and beneficial solution. This system works to help manufacturers and retailers understand more clearly the properties of foam so they can better convey the information to the consumer.

The TRF system was created by the company’s team of technicians and professionals at its Research and Innovation Center and the full TRF product line-up offers a wide range of unique foam solutions at every level:

TRF 2.0

Aerus: Aerus foams have a chemically enhanced open-cell structure that offers good airflow and breathability. An enveloping slow-recovery foam, Aerus conforms to individual body shapes providing maximum comfort, support and durability. It is perfect for the top comfort layer of the bed because of its durability, conforming and pressure relieving properties combined with its potential to offer improved air flow.

MemGel Swirl: Innovative dual-wave gel technology reinforces the MemGel Swirl, a breathable, open-cell visco foam with gel-infused waves to provide enhanced support along with cradling comfort. It is perfect for the top comfort layer of the mattress because of its balance of comfort, support and enhanced pressure relief, combined with its potential to offer improved air flow.

TRF 3.0

Gel-Trix : Gel-Trix is a specialty product with a high concentration of engineered gel in targeted regions throughout the surface of the open-cell foam, providing rapid heat transfer away from the body. PCM’s have been added to the gel to enhance this effect. High air permeability in open cell foam offers advanced temperature management. It is best used in the top of the bed for maximum heat dissipation and temperature regulation plus additional support where needed most.

TRF 4.0

MAXPERM: The extremely open and controlled cell structure of MAXPERM maximizes consistent airflow to move moisture and heat away from the body, providing outstanding temperature regulation properties. Maxperm is also available in two different constructions. Maxperm 15 is perfect for the breathable comfort layer at top or towards top of bed, while Maxperm 33 can be used as the transition layer to promote airflow throughout the bed.

Aerus MAX: The Aerus MAX boasts the best balance of comfort, durability and temperature regulation capabilities. The extremely open-cell visco foam delivers consistent airflow to transfer heat and move moisture away from the body. It is typically used in top layer of the bed because of its exceptional airflow, temperature management, and enveloping pressure relief and conformance properties.

MemGel MAX: The MemGel MAX also delivers the best balance of comfort, support and temperature regulation capabilities. The extremely open-cell visco foam promotes airflow to transfer heat and moisture away from the body. Enhancing its exceptional comfort and conformance, MemGel Max is infused with gel for added support. It is typically used in top layer of the bed.
