It’s hard to ignore the gel-infused memory foam trend that’s been happening in the bedding industry recently. Manufacturers and retailers of all sizes have been singing the praises of gel memory foam and unsurprisingly, consumers have been latching on.
Carolina Mattress Guild has touted gel-foam as a great solution to the age-old problem of sleeping hot. On the retail floor, gel foam is something tangible that people can see, sometimes touch if the Point of Purchase allows it, and wrap their heads around. It’s a great feature for a manufacturer to be able to offer and talk about.
But this summer, Carolina Mattress Guild is focusing on products that break away from this trend. In order to continue to explore new technology and new lesser-known components, in addition to educating the consumer about sleep innovations, Carolina will debut the new Cool Flex collection at the Summer Las Vegas Market. Cool Flex is a three bed plush-program that utilizes inherently cool and breathable natural latex as its core and primary component. The line is covered in a contemporary patterned AIRVENT knit fabric that looks great but also doubles as a selling tool; consumers can see the vents all over the fabric to better understand the air-flow benefit that it offers. On top of those features, Cool Flex nestles a layer of mineral-based Cool Breeze Poured Gel into a deep valley of natural latex on the top of each model. The consumer can feel an enormous difference between the poured (almost solid, jelly-like) gel and its gel-infused memory foam counter-part. The coolness is still very present through the fire retardant and cover fabric, a feature that truly differentiates the collection on the showroom floor.
The company’s two gel-foam based collations—Cool Coil and Fresh Touch—have seen great success with retailers and will continue to be available for sale. With the Cool Flex collection, the brand is offering different options to fit the diverse needs of retailers and consumers. Carolina Mattress Guild is committed to continuous innovation as a way to keep the industry from going stagnant and to provide valuable solutions to the consumer.
