After a 20-year absence, Therapedic International has resumed its presence in Africa with the signing of KDV Bedding (Private) Limited in Zimbabwe. KVD will begin producing Therapedic products immediately and will market them to much of the southern part of the continent, one of the world’s fastest developing consumer markets.
“Our brand had a long, fallow period in Africa,” said Gerry Borreggine, President/CEO of Therapedic. “We are hopeful that we have found the right partner to present our products and grow there.”
Since beginning its initial operation in 1998, KDV has become today’s current market leader with nearly a 40% share of the market in Zimbabwe. The company will represent the Therapedic brand in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Angola and Botswana.
“This is a unique opportunity for us to increase our profile by partnering with Therapedic,” said KDV’s CEO, Vikas Patel. “This partnership will help us raise the standards of our product range and increase the expectations of the market for quality bedding products in our areas of operation. We are the leading brand in Zimbabwe and, we believe that Therapedic can become the leading bedding brand in southern Africa.”
