After coming to the US Market in early 2014, airweave - a Japanese manufacturer of innovative mattress toppers - is now scheduled to open its first US brick-and-mortar store. Located at 498 Broome Street in the SoHo district of Manhattan, the two-story airweave showroom will be approximately 2,400 square feet, and will offer guests an intimate introduction to the brand. Possessing a simple, clean design, the store will feature a private room for select customers to undergo sleep assessments and offer a personal shopping experience with airweave. The store will also employ “sleep counselors,” who will serve as brand ambassadors trained to educate customers on airweave’s product features and sleep benefits for the individual or couple.
Made of unique resin fibers, airweave toppers are designed to minimize pressure on joints and promote airflow, dispersing heat and moisture that occur while sleeping. These revolutionary toppers are used by top athletes all over the world, in top hotels such as select Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton hotels, and are offered on all first and business class Japan Airlines (JAL) international flights.

About airweave: Founded in 2004 by President & CEO Motokuni Takaoka, airweave is one of the leading manufacturers of premium bedding toppers. airweave began when Mr. Takaoka took over his uncle’s plastics company. Realizing that the plastic resins produced through an injection molding process had unique physical properties, Mr. Takaoka developed prototypes for an entirely new application that would revolutionize the bedding industry. The result was the airweave mattress topper, whose state-of-the-art core material consists of three-dimensional resin fibers that offer a higher level of comfort for the best quality sleep. airweave is proven to minimize strain on joints, reduce restlessness while sleeping and distribute weight evenly, all of which amount to a life-enhancing sleep experience that leaves people feeling invigorated and refreshed upon waking.
