Organic Mattresses, Inc. has named Steve Baumberger its new Senior Vice President of Sales. Baumberger brings over 20 years of sales experience in key executive positions to the company.
Prior to joining OMI, Baumberger was director of sales at Pure LatexBLISS in the Southwest United States and all of Canada. He also served as a senior territory manager for International Bedding Group, where he was responsible for spearheading sales growth in Southern California. Prior to that, he was president of Baumberger’s Furniture from 1997 to 2007. While in that post, he was credited with tripling the company’s revenue in only a few years. He first joined the family business in 1992 as a sales representative and assistant manager.
“OMI pioneered the organic mattress movement over the last decade. We set the purity bar for organic mattresses and sleep essentials in the category. We are well positioned to take the OrganicPedic brand to the next level and I brought Baumberger on because of his passion for the organic movement and our product. His superior understanding of mattress retail, retail merchandising and sales training put him in a unique position to support our strategic growth plan,” said OMI Founder and Chairman Walt Bader. “His extensive industry insight, passion and integrity make him the ideal person to build our business nationwide.”
Baumberger’s hire coincides with Kurt Ling’s appointment to CEO. The moves position the company to capture the ever-increasing organic movement to the mattress industry and position the OrganicPedic brand to become a marketing and sales powerhouse.
