Beautyrest and Mattress Firm were two of several brands using this year's Kentucky Derby to reach luxury-oriented consumers. For two full days, Beautyrest and Mattress Firm provided a restful escape for attendees of Louisville’s signature event at the Black Diamond Lounge.
Located just inside of Gate 10 at the racetrack, the Black Diamond Lounge offered luxurious experiences that reflect the technologies found in Beautyrest Black Hybrid mattresses, sold exclusively at Mattress Firm. Inside the lounge, guests enjoyed pressure-relieving neck and shoulder massages, premium shoe shines where guests relaxed on custom seating made from a Beautyrest Black Hybrid mattress and a cooling station with refreshing items to help visitors beat the heat.
Although the weather was a little cooler than anticipated, the Lounge had steady traffic throughout the weekend, and given the intermittent precipitation, the shoe shine station was a major hit with attendees! In addition to the excitement onsite in Louisville, the event garnered plenty of buzz on social media as well. Guests were encouraged to share images of themselves at the Lounge on Instagram for the chance to win the Beautyrest Black Diamond Upgrade Contest. On Sunday, May 6th, one lucky winner walked away with the grand prize package, which included a private box for up to six people with a great view of the finish line, a customized black diamond horseshoe necklace designed by a local Louisville jeweler and a Beautyrest Black Hybrid Mattress.
Also, the Beautyrest team was thrilled to welcome Serta Simmons Bedding CEO Michael Traub, who visited the Black Diamond Lounge while attending the race with MEGA Group USA COO Jerry Honea. Traub and Honea had their shoes shined while sitting on the custom-made bench created from a Beautyrest Black Hybrid mattress, which is available exclusively at Mattress Firm, while their wives received shoulder massages to highlight the pressure relief technology in the mattresses.
