Average Unit Prices Increase as Mattress Sales Rise 12.3% in August

The industry held onto strong performance in August with the average bed unit rising 3.1% in price contributing to an overall rise monthly rise in sales of 12.3%.

Industry sales are reported by the International Sleep Products Association's study of the top 18 bedding producers in the states. Sales from these 18 producers account for 65% of total bedding unit shipments and about 74% of the wholesale value of those shipments, according to ISPA.

ISPA’s report goes on to say bedding unit shipments are up 1.4% while the cost of these shipments up 7.8%.
