Veyl Products, LLC has entered its ePillow™ into Walmart’s “Get on the Shelf” program, the first contest of its kind from a major retailer allowing anyone to enter for the chance to get their product sold on Walmart.com and in Walmart stores. Veyl Products was one of the first companies to submit their product information and video to the competition.
According to Walmart’s press release, “Any product in any category currently covered by Walmart is eligible ranging from housewares and electronics to toys and apparel. The nationwide contest is the latest announcement from @WalmartLabs and similar to the popular American Idol television show, contestants will create videos of their latest inventions and the public will vote online for the winners. A two-round public voting process will determine the top three products to be sold on Walmart.com. The Grand Prize winner’s product will be sold on Walmart.com and featured on the site’s home page, and also get valuable shelf space in select Walmart stores across the country.”
ePillow, a comfortable pillow-based tablet PC accessory that results in a more enjoyable and ergonomic user experience, is now available in fresh colors and materials so that customers can match it with their home décor, office style or general preference. The product is available at epillow.net and retails for $29.95.
The ePillow is constructed of soft polyester with a suede feel and is double-stitched for durability. The latest designs are available in both twill cotton and synthetic leather. A “ledge” surrounds the outside to hold a tablet PC or iPad in place either horizontally or vertically. It comes with a soft flexible handle and also features a built-in pocket to hold your reading glasses, ear buds or various other items.
Renee Anderson, co-owner of Veyl Products, LLC commented, “With J.P. Morgan projecting Tablet PC sales to reach 72.4 million units in 2012, we are hoping that Walmart recognizes the sales potential of carrying our product on their shelves and online."
